Yewon Seo, documentary filmmaker and art director.
Born in South Korea and based in Germany, she works between different worlds: between East Asia and Europe, between structural conditions and artistic responses,

spaces that touch, overlap, and sometimes collide.

Her work emerges at the margins, where migration, precarity, and gender leave visible and invisible traces. From these fractures, she creates images that do not simply document, but open spaces of resonance. Moving between documentary and poetic form, she searches for a cinematic language that keeps memory in motion rather than fixing it. Hands, gestures, and voices appear as fragments, loosely woven without closure.

Her films do not promise belonging. They invite encounters.
A cinema not concerned with final answers, but with shared questions, where vulnerability becomes a way of staying connected.
